Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 1, 2026
Remvi, Inc. (“Remvi”, “we”, “us”) operates the Remvi mobile app and remvi.us. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do about it.
Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account we collect your phone number, and — depending on how you sign up and what you choose to fill in — your name, email address and home or business address. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the identifier and email that service returns to us. Apple may return a private relay address; we treat that the same as any other email.
Photos and project content. Photos you capture or upload, the designs generated from them, project descriptions, budgets, and any files or media you attach to a message.
Messages. The content of conversations between homeowners and contractors on Remvi, including attachments.
Contractor information. For professional accounts: business name, licence number, insurance documentation, and public review-site links you choose to add.
Device and usage data. Basic diagnostics, crash information, and a push-notification token if you enable notifications.
We do not collect precise device location, and we do not use third-party advertising trackers.
How your photos are processed
This is the part most people want to know, so it gets its own section. When you use a design tool, the photo you provide is sent to a third-party AI provider — currently xAI (Grok) and Google (Gemini) — which generates the redesigned image and returns it to us. The photo leaves our servers to do this.
We do not sell your photos, and we do not publish them anywhere without an action from you. Photos attached to a project you post are visible to contractors browsing projects on Remvi. Photos you only run through a tool stay private to your account.
How we use information
To operate the service: generating designs, hosting your projects, delivering messages, sending push notifications you have enabled, and keeping accounts secure. To provide support when you contact us. To detect abuse and enforce our Terms. To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Who we share it with
We use service providers that process data on our behalf under contract: Supabase (database, authentication, file storage), Amazon Web Services (backend hosting), Vercel (website hosting), Expo (push-notification delivery), and the AI providers named above (xAI, Google) for image generation.
We share information with other Remvi users when you choose to: a project you post is visible to contractors, and anything you send in a message is visible to its recipient.
We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of Remvi, our users, or the public.
Retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time — see Deleting your account for how. When you delete it, we remove your profile, projects, photos and messages within 30 days, except where we are required to retain records to comply with a legal obligation.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. California residents have these rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. Users in the EEA and UK have equivalent rights under the GDPR.
To exercise any of these, email privacy@remvi.us from the address on your account. We respond within 30 days.
Children
Remvi is not directed to children and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access to production systems is restricted to people who need it. No service can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise — but we will tell you promptly if a breach affects your data and the law requires notice.
Changes
If we make a material change to this policy we will update the date at the top and, where the change is significant, notify you in the app.
